Cuba is a destination to travel all year round. With an ideal temperature to enjoy the country and the beach 365 days a year. However, the best months are from November to March, when the temperature is more pleasant and the heat is not overwhelming.

Cuba is a paradise for the senses. The journey begins in Old Havana, a city full of color, joy and an undeniable cultural richness. The music will accompany you in the discovery of the island capital. However, this is only the beginning, and you will discover the incredible regions of Cayo Jutías, Valle Ancón, the city of Soroa, or Las Terrazas, a rural area protected by UNESCO. An incredible country on a bicycle You can not deny it, this is your ideal trip.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Havana

Arrival in Havana by your own and check-in at the first hotel. Take the opportunity to get to know the area, the restaurants and the music at street level. Tomorrow you start pedaling.

Day 2: Habana – Viñales
Route: 10 km

After breakfast we will be at 8:30 am to meet our guide for this incredible trip. We will start the trip to Pinar del Río, a region famous for its Tobacco cultivation fields. For that reason, you will be able to know first hand a factory of tobacco production and you will still have time to go around the city.

Then we will continue to the Valley of Viñales, one of the most attractive natural landscapes of the island. Here, the legendary Cuban tobacco grows between cliffs and rocks. After lunch at a typical restaurant, you will start your first bicycle tour. You will also visit the Cueva del Indio, an underground cave 90 meters high.

Day 3: Cayo Jutías
Route: 55 km

Today, you will go by bicycle to Cayo Jutias, a secluded sandy beach. Your trip will take you through the Sierra de Oréganos, a serpentine mountain range northwest of Havana. Cayo Jutías is a small island linked to the mainland of Cuba by a road built by man. Going by bicycle on this road is really spectacular! Once there, you will have lunch on the beach and then you can rent a boat or swim in the beautiful sea. Then, you can take the bus or return by bicycle to Viñales where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Viñales – Valle Ancón
Route: 30 km

On today’s trip you will take the Jagua Vieja road to Palma in the Ancón Valley, a 30 km route through picturesque landscapes of virgin valleys. On the way, you will have the option of visiting a country house where Fidel Castro held secret meetings during the Cuban Revolution (optional).

You will have a picnic in the lush valley before continuing on to your next destination: the Hotel Villa Aguas Claras, which is located in an idyllic setting, perfect for a short walk at night.

Day 5: Valle Ancón – Soroa
Route: 45 km

After breakfast, we will go to the Cueva de los Portales. This beautiful area was the hideout that Che Guevera used during the ’62 confrontation with Kennedy. From here, you will go by bicycle to Soroa on the Carretera Central. The route will take you through charming rural towns in western Cuba.

We strongly recommend that you stop and visit the famous orchid garden in Soroa (optional) where you can see more than 700 varieties of this delicate flower.

Day 6: Las terrazas
Route: 20 km

Today, once you have had breakfast, you will go by bicycle to the Las Terrazas nature reserve, 20 km away. This community is located in the Sierra del Rosario, a rural area protected by UNESCO to guarantee its sustainable development. On your route you will see the San Juan River, small lakes and a small waterfall that flows through the thick forest, as well as ruins and coffee plantations of the 19th century.

The name of the Las Terrazas community comes from the terraced fields that are typical of this region. The 900 inhabitants of this community live from the timber industry and ecotourism. On the way, you will have lunch in a country house. In the afternoon, return to Soroa by bus.

Day 7: Soroa – Habana

In the morning you will return to Havana. Your guide will accompany you on a tour through the narrow streets of Old Havana, which will give you a final impression of the Hispano-Andalusian architecture. Your tour ends with a visit to the Havana Club Rum Museum, this is a great place to pick up some souvenirs or have a cocktail. Lunch in a restaurant included.

Day 8: Departure La Havanna

In the morning Checkout of the hotel. It’s time to say goodbye to vibrant Cuba. Or, if you continue your trip, at least say goodbye to us, then conclude our services. We can take you to the airport if you wish (optional) or if you prefer to go by free.
